Assoc. Prof. Dr. Valentina Georgieva and Senior Lecturer Diana Borimechkova from the Department of „Language Education“, within the Department of Distance Learning, Language Training, and Qualification, visited the Language Academy at the Royal Danish Defence College in Copenhagen. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen cooperation in the field of foreign language teaching and testing through the sharing of best practices and exchange of experience.
During the visit, the lecturers met with the Head of Foreign Language Training and became acquainted with the system for training military interpreters in the Danish Armed Forces. They held discussions with Russian language instructors to exchange experience in testing according to STANAG 6001 and conducted a sample speaking test with cadets from the Danish Language Academy in order to standardize assessment criteria.
The Head of English Language Training and Testing under STANAG 6001 at the Royal Danish Defence College delivered a briefing presenting the testing system used in the Danish Armed Forces. The next steps for continuing the cooperation between Rakovski National Defence College and the Royal Danish Defence College in the field of foreign language education were also discussed.
