The mission of the section is to conduct scientific research activities related to the collection and processing of information and data from research projects related to technologies and platforms in defence and security in the interest of scientific and research activities and the educational process at the College.

• Conducts scientific research within its area of competence through research projects of the DARI, the Rakovski National Defence College, the Ministry of Defense, the Bulgarian Army, other structures of the armed forces, allied and coalition formats;

• Promotes experience in publications and participation in scientific research and expert forums, training and qualification courses;

• Processes data and information and uses techniques and means for research in the field of innovation and platforms in security and defence;

• Develops and participates in scientific and applied scientific projects;

• Conducts scientific and applied scientific research in the field of technologies and platforms in the security environment and the impact of changes on the development and building of the armed forces;

• Participates in national and allied scientific research projects in the field of defence and national security;

• Provides specialized scientific expertise on the implementation and application of technologies and platforms in the security environment to counter attempts to falsify the national military-historical heritage.

• Researches and analyzes the impact of development on defence and national security;

• Processes and analyzes data and information, using research techniques and tools in the field of innovation and platforms in security and defence;

• Develops and participates in scientific and applied research projects related to the application of new technologies and platforms in the security environment;

• Participates in scientific research and expert forums, training and qualification courses in the field of defence and national security;

• Organizes and participates in forums related to technologies and platforms in security and defense, within the Armed Forces of the Republic of Bulgaria, NATO, and the EU;

• Participates in the educational process at the Rakovski National Defence College, independently and/or jointly with other educational units of the College;

• Conducts training for the acquisition of educational and scientific degrees „doctor“ in accredited doctoral programs.
